THE MT PLEASANT MICHIGAN KENNEL CLUB CODE OF CONDUCT
1. Members must conduct themselves in a polite, professional and reasonable manner always and adhere to the following:
a) Neither the organization’s name nor logo may be used for any form of personal advertisement.
b) No personal payment may be accepted for services performed under the organization’s name or in connection with any of the organization’s activities, except as allowed by State or Federal Law and Club bylaws.
c) Alcoholic beverages, illegal/recreational drugs and tobacco products will not be used when publicly representing MPMKC.
d) Personal differences or animosity will not be evident when representing MPMKC.
2. MPMKC will maintain a Facebook page and/or other social media accounts. Members are encouraged to contribute within these guidelines and all posts will be done through the Social Media Coordinator.
a) Members’ last names will not be posted on social media. Member personal information [e.g. - address(es), phone number(s) or e-mail address(es), etc.] are not to be posted without member consent and Officer/Board approval.
b) Club event-related pictures or posts must have Officer/Board or the duly appointed committee approval.
c) The purpose of the page is to inform, educate, congratulate, etc. Keep posts and comments businesslike/professional. Personal posts (other than personal/congratulatory brags about dog-related accomplishments) are not appropriate.
d) Keep posts to ‘Club’ statements (we, not I) – personal comments to posts may be made in the first person
e) Keep it brief, 2 or 3 sentences…less is better
f) No advertising of businesses or organizations without prior approval of the Board.
g) Internal Club business (except for duly authorized announcements) will not be conducted on publicly accessible social media sites.
3. Members must abide by all applicable local, state or federal laws, Club bylaws, as well as the policies and procedures of MPMKC
4. Members will conduct themselves in a professional manner at all events (meetings, training sessions, public events, shows, trials, etc.).
5. Members shall demonstrate a spirit of cooperation and positive attitude toward all other members and shall not directly or indirectly conduct any actions which are detrimental to the Members, Directors, or the Mt. Pleasant Michigan Kennel Club..
6. Differences of opinion and constructive criticisms are always welcome but must be delivered in a professional and courteous manner, which address the issue at hand – not aimed at individual members.
7. Disagreements/conflicts between members shall be conducted privately, and all parties shall always conduct themselves in a professional manner.
8. No member shall utilize their involvement with MPMKC for personal or financial gain. If a conflict of interest arises (or the perception of a conflict of interest arises) the member shall notify the Board of Directors immediately.
9. Violation of any rules and regulations or of the Code of Ethics may result in disciplinary measures up to, and including, loss of membership status and/or referral to appropriate authorities.
