Age appropriate DHPP, in other words, puppies younger than 4 months receiving vaccine every 2-4 weeks with a final booster at 14-18 weeks. Puppies older than 4 months should have at least 1 DHPP vaccine after reaching 4 months of age. Rabies vaccine must be given by 6 months of age, in other words, every dog in every class that is 6 months old or older is required to be vaccinated for rabies, and the vaccination must be current. Bordetella (kennel cough) vaccine is recommended for dogs greater than 4 months of age.
